The Equestrian Pleasures of Citrus County

Many Citrus County residents own horses, and you will see riders alongside most of the secondary highways and roads. More formal riding can be enjoyed along an equestrian trail that parallels the 47-mile long Withlacoochee Trail State Park. This is an asphalt-paved bicycle trail that runs along an abandoned railroad right-of-way. Tillis Hill in the Withlacoochee State Forest offers RV sites, campsites and horse corrals. Bring your own horse!
The following organizations offer riding gear and good advice.
