Here in Citrus County, in a farm near Inverness, you can get your fill of the little, delectable, antioxidant-rich gem known as the Florida blueberry. Misty Meadows Blueberry Farm opens its gates for you to pick your own berries during the months of May and June.
At Misty Meadows Blueberry Farm, you can venture out into their 10 acres of blueberry bushes and pick your own. They supply you with a handy-dandy bucket, complete with a rope that you loop around your neck so your hands are free to pick away. The charge is $3.00 per pound if you pick them, and they tout that they don't weigh people only buckets! So you're welcome to sample while you're enjoying your day. If you'd just like some of the healthy fruit while forgoing the effort, they offer them by the pound for $4.25, but you should call ahead so they have them ready for you.
